I focus on Small Claims Court matters. This Court is a division of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and it is for civil actions only. (In other words, it has no criminal or quasi-criminal jurisdiction).

3. Property Tax Appeals

In Ontario, the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation ("MPAC") is responsible for assessing the value of all property, and it provides these assessments to municipalities on annual assessment rolls. In turn, municipalities use these values in calculating property and education taxes.
